The Church of Psychedelics is a spiritual community dedicated to conscious growth, mindful exploration, and inner transformation through The Golden Path. We provide educational resources, mindfulness practices, and community support for those seeking spiritual enlightenment and personal development. In short: Ayüna is the religion. The Church of Psychedelics is the church. The Golden Path is the belief system. The Golden Practices are the spiritual practices. Üna is the spirit guide
The Golden Path is our comprehensive approach to personal development and spiritual growth through mindful practices. It integrates ancient wisdom with modern insights to guide individuals on their journey of self-discovery and consciousness expansion.
Yes, TCOP operates as a spiritual and religious organization focused on the sacred use of natural entheogenic medicines and practices of consciousness exploration within a framework of a worldwide community of those seeking personal growth and spiritual development. We practice within legal frameworks — see our legality guide.
A psychedelic church — sometimes called a "mushroom church" — is a religious community whose spiritual practice centers on the sacramental use of a psychedelic. At The Church of Psychedelics, that sacrament is the psilocybin mushroom. Like other entheogenic faiths, we believe a carefully prepared and integrated psychedelic experience can support genuine spiritual growth and lasting character change. Start by joining free as a Member on our membership page — membership is open to everyone, in any state. Becoming an Initiate is the next step: an Initiate is a Member who has chosen to work with the psilocybin sacrament. The process involves completing an online safety and support training, understanding the TCOP philosophy and committing to the principles of The Golden Path. Initiates gain access to exclusive content, community forums, guided practices, and special events.
Initiates receive everything Members do — access to our private community forums, exclusive educational content, guided meditation sessions, priority registration for retreats and events, virtual gatherings, and spiritual guidance from our community leaders — plus working with psychedelic mushrooms as sacrament, gifted to their door (21+ and in a served state, confirmed at checkout).
A Member joins free, in any state, and walks the Golden Path with the community — practices, guidance, and honest education, with no sacrament required. An Initiate is a Member who has chosen to work with the psilocybin mushroom as sacrament, which is gifted to their door (21+ and in a served state, confirmed at checkout). Both paths are laid out on our membership page.
Joining is free and open to everyone, in any state. To join as a free Member — or to log in if you’re already part of the community — go to our community here, where you can sign up or sign in. To explore full membership, including the Initiate path that includes the psilocybin sacrament, the membership page lays out both tiers.
Join our online groups and forums through the Groups page to connect with fellow seekers. We have various discussion groups, practice circles, and regional meetups available for community members.

Psilocybin is a Schedule I substance under U.S. federal law and is illegal in most states. A few jurisdictions have changed course — Oregon and Colorado have created regulated state programs, and several cities have deprioritized enforcement — but those are exceptions, not the national rule. We keep an honest, state-by-state breakdown in our psilocybin legality guide. This is general information, not legal advice.
It depends on where you live, and the law is changing quickly. Most states still prohibit psilocybin; a few — like Colorado — have created regulated access, and some cities have decriminalized it. Look up your state in our legality guide, which we keep current with primary sources. Always confirm your local and state law; this isn’t legal advice.
Religious Freedom Restoration Acts (RFRA) — federal and in many states — protect sincere religious exercise from being substantially burdened by the government unless it has a compelling interest pursued in the least restrictive way. Courts have applied this to entheogenic sacraments, most notably a unanimous 2006 U.S. Supreme Court decision protecting a church’s sacramental use of a controlled substance. RFRA is a legal principle, not a guarantee of immunity, and it doesn’t change the underlying drug laws. We explain how it applies in our legality guide. Not legal advice.
Psilocybin isn’t right for everyone. It’s generally not recommended for people with a personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder, or for anyone taking certain medications such as SSRIs, MAOIs, lithium, or tramadol. It is for adults 21 and older and is not intended for therapeutic or medical use. If you have any health concerns, speak with a qualified professional first — this is general education, not medical advice. If you’re exploring where to begin, our microdosing guide covers the gentle daily practice, our large-dose journey guide covers preparation and safety for deeper ceremonial work, and our integration guide explains what comes after.
Our sacrament is the psilocybin mushroom, offered as a gift within our religious practice to enrolled members — it is not available to the public. Receiving it requires church membership, and members must be 21 or older; eligibility is confirmed at enrollment. Explore the sacraments on our sacrament page and the paths to membership on our membership page.
Our sacraments are built around specific psilocybin mushroom cultivars, chosen for their character and consistency and lab-tested for purity and potency — see our lab results. You can read about the individual strains — their potency, effects, and origins — in our strain guides, and see which sacrament each one belongs to on our sacrament page.
Microdosing is the practice of taking a very small, sub-perceptual amount of psilocybin on a schedule rather than a full ceremonial dose. The Red Hail Protocol® is our founder’s structured 30-day microdosing framework for steady, everyday spiritual presence. Learn the fundamentals in our microdosing guide and the method itself in the Red Hail Protocol.
Integration is the practice of making sense of a psychedelic experience afterward and translating what it revealed into everyday life and character. We consider it essential — the experience is the beginning, not the end. Our integration guide covers how we approach it.
We can only send the sacrament to members in the states we’re currently able to serve, confirmed at checkout. Joining the Church, though, is free and open to everyone in any state — you can become a Member today with no sacrament required. If your state isn’t served yet, check your state and join the waitlist; we’ll reach out the moment you’re able to become an Initiate (21+ and in a served state).
